Gaza: Israel destroys the last hospital. War crime, Western complicity, media silence

13 April 2025. The Israeli army bombed the Al-Ahli Arabi Hospital in Gaza. It wasn’t a military target. It was the last functioning hospital in the northern part of the besieged strip. That day, Palestine’s healthcare system collapsed. That day, the West looked away.

The last hospital. The last breath.

They operated by the light of mobile phones. They transfused children in bloodied, dust-filled corridors. They slept on the floor, in a structure founded in 1882 by the Anglican Church. Al-Ahli Arabi Hospital was not a terrorist base. It was the final refuge of a bombed, starved, mutilated people.

On 13 April 2025, Israeli missiles struck the emergency ward and oxygen station. A child died in the panic. Doctors were forced to flee, leaving injured patients behind. One survivor testified:

“They were screaming for us to take them. But there were no more ambulances. Nothing. Just death surrounding us.”

According to the World Health Organization, all 36 hospitals in Gaza are now out of service. There is no functioning medical centre left. The wounded die untreated. Women give birth alone, in the sand. Amputations are performed without anaesthesia. And the world continues to count the numbers.

A strike “justified” by fiction

The Israeli army claimed the hospital hosted a “Hamas command centre.” No evidence has been presented. The Anglican Church immediately denied it, accusing Israel of deliberately striking a civilian facility.

“It wasn’t a base. It was a sanctuary. A place of peace in the heart of hell.” – Archbishop Hosam Naoum, Jerusalem.

Satellite images, NGO reports, and journalists confirm: no military activity was recorded within the hospital. The strike targeted medical infrastructure. This was no accident. This is a method. Destroy all chances of survival.

Guterres, Albanese, Corbyn, Petro: the conscience front

In a rare statement, Antonio Guterres, UN Secretary-General, condemned the attack as “inexcusable”:

“International humanitarian law is clear: hospitals are protected. This bombing is a grave violation.”

Francesca Albanese, UN Special Rapporteur on the occupied Palestinian territories, declared:

“This is not war. This is open-air ethnic cleansing. And Western powers are complicit.”

Jeremy Corbyn, former UK Labour leader, called it “genocide carried out with the silent complicity of European elites.”

Gustavo Petro, President of Colombia, tweeted:

“The destruction of a hospital is the destruction of what remains of humanity. Those who arm Israel are complicit.”

Western media silence

Where were the headlines? The live coverage? The emergency alerts?

The attack was not reported as a humanitarian disaster, but as a “sensitive military operation.” Western media repeated, uncritically, Israel’s narrative. No mainstream outlet dared use the word “genocide.”

Meanwhile, Palestinian journalists die. Over 140 have been killed since 7 October 2023. Some targeted in their homes, with their families. The goal is clear: erase the witnesses.

Impunity, arms and lies

Israel is the only country in the world that violates international law daily without facing sanctions. Why? Because the United States, the UK and the European Union provide the weapons, the diplomatic cover, and the narrative shield.

The F-35s that bomb Gaza are American. The laser-guided bombs are British. The EU continues trade agreements as if nothing happened.

At the UN? American vetoes have blocked seventeen ceasefire resolutions since October. Seventeen chances to protect civilians. Seventeen betrayals of peace.

Gaza 2025: the mirror of state crimes

Rafah, Khan Younis, Beit Lahia, Jabalia. Today these names echo Guernica, Grozny, Fallujah, Srebrenica. Same massacres. Same silence. Same cowardice.

But this time, it’s all filmed. Documented. Archived. Satellites see everything. Witnesses speak. The crimes are not hidden. They are brazen. And those supporting them knowingly can never say: “I didn’t know.”

“You will not be able to say you didn’t know.”

This article is an indictment. Of the State of Israel. Of complicit governments. Of obedient media. Of the forgetful West. Of every cowardly silence.

This is not a war. It is a crime. And that crime has a name: GENOCIDE!

There are no hospitals left in Gaza.
But there are survivors.
And there is memory.

I refuse to forget, because truth is not an opinion. It is a weapon!
