Trump, Charter Racism: White Refugees Welcome, Latinos Deported
May 2025. In the midst of his campaign to reclaim the White House, Donald Trump orchestrates a spectacular operation: the official reception of 59 Afrikaners, white South Africans, as “political refugees.” At the same time, his administration ramps up deportations of thousands of Latin American migrants fleeing war, persecution or humanitarian disaster. Behind this PR stunt lies a clear political strategy: racialise immigration policy, rehabilitate colonial privilege, and reward white identity. Welcome to segregationist America, 2025 edition.
The Landing of Shame: 59 Afrikaners Received as Heroes
On 12 May, a private flight lands in Dallas. On board: 59 Afrikaners welcomed by Trump administration officials, cameras rolling, patriotic hymns playing. The official reason? Emergency humanitarian protection from an alleged “white genocide” in South Africa.
This theory, popularised by far-right conspiracist circles, has long been debunked. The South African Institute for Race Relations (SAIRR) states that “violent crime in rural areas affects all ethnic groups equally.” Human Rights Watch calls it “an ideological fantasy exported for political ends.” In March 2024, the United Nations Human Rights Office stated: “There is no objective evidence of any state policy targeting white farmers in South Africa.”
Trump doesn’t care. His message is clear: Afrikaners, idealised figures of the conservative white electorate, are symbols to be cherished, especially if they reinforce his racial narrative. At a rally in Tulsa, he declared:
“We protect those who share our values, our culture, our faith. These brave farmers are being persecuted because they refuse to give up their land and way of life. They are welcome here.”
A Migration Policy Engineered by Race
This is no isolated gesture. Since early 2025, the Trump administration has applied a deliberately racialised immigration filter:
- Total suspension of asylum claims from Haiti, Venezuela, Honduras and El Salvador.
- Overcrowded detention camps on the Mexican border.
- Night raids in Latino neighbourhoods, even targeting legal residents.
Meanwhile, Afrikaners receive housing, legal support, and financial aid. Reverend James L. Coleman of Houston’s Episcopal Church publicly declared:
“We refuse to participate in this programme. It hijacks the notion of refuge and turns it into a tool for racial discrimination.”
While Trump stages the arrival of white farmers, cases like that of Mariana López, 28, deported to Honduras in February with her two sick children, continue to multiply. She was murdered upon arrival. Human Rights First reports over 1,300 assaults on migrants deported under Trump’s renewed expulsion policies.
From Fantasy to Reality: Debunking the “White Genocide”
The term “white genocide” is a propaganda construct. No UN or Amnesty International report supports this narrative. Official South African statistics show a decline in murders of white farmers since 2018.
The land reform defended by the ANC involves expropriating fallow land, often owned by descendants of Dutch settlers. Far from being persecution, it seeks to correct historical injustices stemming from apartheid, during which 72% of farmland was controlled by whites.
South Africa’s Ministry of Rural Affairs spokesperson, Thabiso Dlamini, responded:
“What the Trump administration is doing is an insult to our historical process of redress. Yesterday’s oppressed remain dispossessed today.”
Trump reverses the historical narrative: former oppressors become modern-day martyrs, while the real victims are erased. An Orwellian inversion.
An Electoral Strategy Rooted in Racial Identity
Why the theatrics? Because they speak directly to the MAGA base: rural, white, ultra-conservative. Afrikaners are framed as the Christian, armed, land-protecting pioneer — the avatar of a besieged white America that Trump promises to restore.
In a Newsmax interview, former strategist Steve Bannon declared:
“These are the good refugees. They speak our language, they share our spiritual DNA.”
Meanwhile, Guatemalan children are expelled to areas ruled by cartels. Pregnant Haitian mothers are sent back to disease-ridden camps in Port-au-Prince. No cameras. No speeches. Only silence and abandonment.
White America Has Always Been a Political Project
This is nothing new. U.S. immigration history is riddled with racial filters: anti-Asian quotas, Ellis Island screening, priority for Anglo-Saxon Protestants. Trump doesn’t innovate, he repackages a segregated past in nationalist rhetoric.
But his cynicism goes further. By weaponising a conspiracy theory to grant asylum to former colonisers, he mocks the very concept of refuge. He turns humanitarian policy into an instrument of racial selection. He fabricates a hierarchy of suffering.
Conclusion: When Perpetrators Become Refugees, the World Is Upside Down
Welcoming Afrikaners under the pretext of a “fictional genocide” while deporting the wretched of the earth is an insult to truth, history, and justice. It is state-sponsored apartheid by another name. A propaganda stunt serving a white, Protestant, armed and nostalgic worldview.
Acid Report exposes this manipulation in broad daylight. Because what is at stake here is not asylum policy. It is the racist redefinition of who deserves to be saved, and who can be left to die without scandal…
